Plus words from my heart about the work of a photographer
I am now a semi-professional photographer.
I saw a ton of people at the Grand Canyon taking pix with cellphones. Those photos did not look like the one below.
It is a photograph of a “reverse sunset,” looking eastward from Mather Point, South Rim, Grand Canyon.
Those of us who are on their way to being pros invest tons of money and time into
- getting equipment
- learning to use it
- learning to edit like a pro using Lightroom or the like
- and putting effort into turning a beautiful in-camera image
- into something even more beautiful—
- the finished product
I have been giving my work away too often, or charging very little for digital downloads, which amounts to giving it away.
Then I read this— https://www.robynosten.com/expensive-digital-files/
I think this photo is drop-dead gorgeous. Selling it as a digital download means it’s yours to use, and future sales by me will be pretty impossible. Please preserve the watermark before sharing or printing it.
If you love it, you can buy it, give it away, oor share/ print it to your heart’s delight!

Looking East At Grand Canyon Sunset
I took this photo with a long lens and great camera (the OM1), ISO 1600 1/320s f/10, focal distance the equivalent of 300mm. The subject is what some call a “reverse sunset,” the light reflected from objects to the east. I am selling a full size version.
$50.00
